Napoleon

We stated there are four stages in any revolution:
1) Moderate Reform
2) Radical Bloodletting
3) Reaction to Violence
4) One Strong Ruler Emerges

We assume that Napoleon falls into the final stage of the strong ruler... do you agree that Napoleon was a strong ruler?  Give a brief explanation.

  1. Xan Burnard -Napoleon was a strong ruler because he accomplished many great tasks such as conquering most of Europe and making the French ideals almost completely accomplished. Bust he was not all powerfull because he abandoned his army twice to save himself, showing that he was not strong enough to save the armies.

  5. i believe he was a strong ruler but he also wasn't a good one at times, such as leaving his men by the Nile to die, while he got to leave and go home to his family. Napoleon did do lots of good things, equality and liberty, but then did some stupid things, i believe he was an okay ruler but not the one id want to run my country. -db

  6. I believe Napoleon was a strong ruler because he had the ability to make decisions even though they weren't very popular decisions sometimes. I believe if he had stuck to his word he would have stayed ruler and if he had made more universal decisions that appealed to most people.-Gavin Meikle

  7. I do believe that Napoleon was a strong ruler because he was able to achieve many things during his rule; he had ideas and was able to act on them. Napoleon may not have been the most morale man but he restored the peoples faith in France and turned France into a military powerhouse. Martina

  8. Yes i believe Napoleon was a very strong ruler. He did have some downfalls including leaving his army at the battle of Nile returning to France to save himself but he was very intelligent. He had a large impact on the beginnings of many things related to fraternity, equality and liberty. He made all men equal and gave them freedom when it came to religion and occupation. He created a very strong, large and powerful army and was well known for it. He was smart when it came to battles and strategically attacking resulting in him being a very powerful reader.-KM

  9. I believe that during the beginning of Napoleon being in power he was a very strong ruler, however as time went on Napoleon began to lose more and more supporters due to his ideals. Napoleon also showed characteristics throughout his reign that did not replicate a strong leader, for example when Napoleon left his men at the battle of Nile and went back to France it showed that he really didn't care about his army he only wanted to win.

  12. i do not believe that napoleon was a good ruler because rulers are supposed to be good leader and napoleon left his troops behind on many occasions. although, napoleon did lead the french through victory in times of need.meadow

  13. I do agree Napoleon Bonaparte was a strong leader. Napoleon was a great military commander, taking control of Europe. His military smarts and talent allowed him to advance France interests and take control of Europe. He set up puppets in the nearby countries and took control of the rest with the exception of Britain. He established the Napoleonic code and brought forth the ideals of the revolution yet he remained the surpreme leader of it all. He was strong and smart leader.

  14. I agree that Napolean was a strong ruler for sure because his strategies were different then anyone elses. He used ideas that were so spectacular and used them into his advantage in how he governed and initiated attacks on enemy. His strategies were not just genius but they were so well planned but as anyone comes a bad ending, he spent too much of Frances money and went into war and had a fail. - Kovan

  15. i think Napoleon was a strong ruler because he made revolutionary changes in France that changed peoples lives. he abolished serfdom and started banks which benefited the lower class people. he made everyone pay taxes so in way he understood that everyone was equal. he started to make things not always about the higher class and he got a ton of people wanting to fight for France. he was trying to make France a nice place to be which in my opinion made him a strong ruler. 19. i do believe that napoleon was a strong leader even with his down falls.
because first of all he stood up for what he believed in so he was courageous. He was also way before his time with all the strategist he did and thought way out of the box so it took everybody by storm. But i think the he was such a strong leader because he wasn't there for the money he was there for the equality so he had so many people supporting him because he gave hem hope that they didn't have.
