The Third Estate was fighting for the 3 ideals of Fraternity, Equality, and Liberty. As events unfolded and more radical events were taking place, this became more and more ironic. Give an example of how the fight for Fraternity, Equality and Liberty proved ironic during the 1789-1794 time frame.

ReplyDeletepeople stormed the bastille and beheaded the prison guard & freeing 7 prisoners. this shows that there was no liberty. French emigres urged Austria and Prussia to invade France. this shows there was no fraternity because different groups were turning against each other. revolutionary's took over the city of Paris because they weren't being treated equally.
ReplyDeleteDuring the fight between Fraternity, Equality and Liberty, there was a France war at 1792, Storming Of The Bastille and at 1793-1794 there was also Reign Of Terror happening.
ReplyDeleteThis proved ironic because the third estate was fighting for these three ideals, but were killing people who said or did anything that they didn't like, waging a brutal campaign against them as enemies of France. An example of this is when Liam Kerr.
