I stated to the class that I believe the Industrial Revolution likely had the greatest impact on us, physically at least. We talked about things we take for granted in Canada today then we read a brief synopsis about life in the 1700s Britain. What are 2 things you are grateful have changed over the past 3 centuries?
I am grateful that woman are treated more equally to men. I am also grateful that the average person is expected to live longer than 35.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful that we have indoor plumbing, heating, electricity and other natural resources that we are able to use on a daily basis. I am also grateful that woman are treated more fairly now and not looked upon as just a servant who had to work long hours and make there mistresses happy. - Erin Kobelka
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for many things that we have now because of the industrial revolution. Two of the main things I am grateful for are indoor plumbing and motor vehicles because those are things that almost everyone takes for granted in our modern world and without them my life would be completely different. -Gavin Meikle
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful that more that 50 percent of babys live and that we can live past 35

ReplyDeleteI am most grateful for all the modern conveniences that the industrial revolution has provided us with but if I had to choose two they would be indoor plumbing and canned food or possibly wood filler which has saved my life on more than one occasion.
2 things that i am very grateful that have changed are women's right and healthcare. i'm very grateful that women have rights and we aren't being used all the time and that are opines matter. but its still sad to think about women in other country that still do not have any rights and are still getting treated like trash. i'm also grateful for are healthcare and we don't have to worry about giant payments if we go to the doctors for something small or big.BF
ReplyDeleteOne thing i am grateful for that I feel i take for granted of how far it has come is organized sports. They are a big part of my life that i don't know what i would do without. I am extremely grateful for how much has changed especially being a female athlete that has a lot more opportunity than I would have in the past. Girls have been recognized a lot more in sports these days than they have in the past. Another thing i'm grateful for is our health care. We are a very fortunate country to have free health care and it has not always been like that. It helps a lot of people to receive the care they need that maybe don't have much money. This has also took a major role in the lifespan of the average human and lengthened it a lot.-KM
ReplyDeleteOne thing that i am grateful for is that the lifespan of people has greatly increased. without that change my family would be small and i would not have parents to support me through life. Another change that i am greatful for is the change in how women are treated. in the past 3 centeries women had gotten little respect and now women (mostly) is most places have gotten the respect that they they deserve. Meadow Nordell
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for having the right to live where we live, and im grateful for being in a free country/lifestyle that you could go into anything your heart desires / Kovan
ReplyDeletei am grateful for the better technology and the better transportation that we have today.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful that people have realized how horrible sexual assault is and even though we have not completely eliminated it we have laws in place and social standards to stop it. I am also very grateful that if i decide to have kids one day it'll be my choice and i'll know that my children will most likely survive because of our advancements in technology. plus i know that i will always be able to support the basic needs of my children and i wont have to give up my little tiny babies.
ReplyDelete2 things I am grateful have changed over the past few years are access to clean water and increased life expectancy. 300 years ago, not everyone had access to clean water free of contamination however, nowadays, people living in canada do have access to it. Increased life expectancy is also an excellent thing. 300 years ago, one could only expect to live to 30 years old, however, now, the average world life expectancy is 78.5 years which is more than double.

Christian Johnston - The 2 things I am grateful for the indoor pluming and cars.
ReplyDeletei am grateful for living in Canada because it is a good and safe place to live in. i am also grateful for people not dying at the age of 25 or 35 anymore.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for, the women rights and how we have realized that sexual assault is a very horrible thing. in the 1700's women had no rights and were very poorly treated. i am also grateful for how the medical system has greatly improved and it so the life expectancy is longer. Mary
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for healthcare and its development, without it our lifespan would not be as not, and our quality of life would be a lot lesser. also i am grateful for they way people have changed the way of thinking of others, like women's rights for example, if they did not change i could be made to be a servant right now instead of the non-violent life i live today.
ReplyDeletei am very grateful for our health care system, our freedom and religion, i am grateful for the fact that women long ago didn't have much say in anything, but now in 2019, i finally feel that women are coming back and coming strong and we are able to to " work" a mans job, and are able to do something with our lives rather than men thinking we just stay at home, clean and have babies. -db
